Arnold Farms finds success with early season tomatoes

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — One local vendor at the Farmer’s Market is experiencing early season success with their tomato sales.

Hillary Arnold of Arnold Farms says that their tomatoes come earlier than most other farms in the area, and with the high demand from Farmer’s Market goers, he tries to keep a variety of produce available in addition to his early season tomatoes.

“Our tomatoes are earlier than most people, and everybody’s hungry for tomatoes right now. We feature home grown tomatoes and that’s what people come to the market looking for a lot. I try to have a large variety, from my onions, to the tomatoes, to the squash,” explained Hillary Arnold of Arnold Farms.

The farm has been around for approximately 60 years, and Arnold says that he’s been running it for about 15 years.

He says that the Farmer’s Market is a great opportunity for them to get their brand in front of the community and increase awareness about Arnold Farms, while also increasing sales revenue.

Arnold adds that he takes great joy in being able to provide the community with a fresh local option, promoting clean eating, and watching the farming process from start to finish.

“It’s something I enjoy, I enjoy eating it, and I enjoy providing it for other people. And as a farmer, I enjoy starting it. Some of this stuff I start in February, you know, from seed. And it’s just a joy to be able to see the finished product and see the smiles and people’s [faces] when they get it,” said Arnold.
