Arrests Made in Newark Shooting

The Newark Police Department announced Monday that they’ve made multiple arrests in connection to a weekend shooting on Cherry Street.

Police said a 15-year-old was arrested early Sunday morning at his residence in Heath. Later in the evening with assistance of the Columbus Division of Police SWAT team, Newark Detectives arrested 20-year-old Tyler Ocasio and 21-year-old Dustin Lehoe both of Newark.

On January 20, in the early morning hours police said they responded to 70 Cherry Street for a report of shots fired and found 48-year-old David Barcus with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
