Art & Tea Event Opens Historic Harris House to Public

ZANESVILLE, OH – Calling all art and history enthusiasts, an event this weekend is combining the best of both worlds.
Linda Ketcham, a part Owner of the William B. Harris House has partnered up with the ZAAP Gallery to host an Art and Tea event on Saturday, May 16th.
Ketcham says people will have the chance to sit down for some tea, scones and other treats friends; they’ll also get to take a tour of the house and see around 80 pieces of art from local artists.
“We have a lot of people that stop by when we are outside and they ask me about the house, and so there is a lot of interest about people wanting to see the house and the inside of the house.” Ketcham said. “I’ve even had people ask if they could come in, which doesn’t happen very often, but we bought the house because it was on the National Register and we wanted to do a restoration of an old home.”
Ketcham says there are two Tea Seatings, the first from 1 to 3PM, which has sold out, but there will be a second Seating a little later from 3-5PM that still has some spots available.
She says tickets are $15 and all of the proceeds will go back to the ZAAP Gallery.
“I’ll give a historic tour of the house every half an hour or so, approximately, we’ll see how it goes.” Ketcham said. “We already have about 75 tickets sold, our cut off is 100, so.”
