Arthur “Art†Hugh Foltz, 88 of Zanesville passed away July 4, 2016 at Adams Lane Care Center.
He was born in Logan, Ohio on July 31, 1927 to the late Rev. George C. and Esther M. (Wilcox) Foltz. He was a former dump truck operator for Licking Township and worked for Roper in Newark. He was the former owner of the Duke station in Nashport, Duke’s Tavern and the Snack Shack. He was a member of Nashport United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 29. He served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Navy during World World II.
He is survived by his beloved companion Betty L. Stamm; four step-children Ronnie W. Stamm, Sondra Schlaegel, Cheryl L. Stamm and Vickie (Lynn Elmore) Stamm; two grandchildren Adam (Jill) Schlaegel and Jessica (Kris Kier) Schlaegel; a great granddaughter Cambria Schlaegel; a sister-in-law Ruth Foltz; three nieces Barbara Rasholdt, Jill Rolland and Diana Ables; a nephew Greg Foltz; a cousin Dottie McKisson; friends Paul (Ginger) Rutter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mildred (Deck) Foltz; a brother Harland Foltz; and a sister Helen Purdy.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Art’s roommate, Steve at Adams Lane, for all of his care and concern.
Calling hours will be from 4:30 to 7:30 pm Friday, July 8th at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY ROAD. Funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm in the Snouffer Chapel.
