Artist of the Month: Jessica McKee

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Artist Colony of Zanesville’s featured artist is all about capturing the moment.

Jessica McKee is a photographer who captures events, landscapes, and portraits. McKee said that she always loved art in every form but that photography had a special appeal to her.

“I’ve always loved art in all forms,” said McKee. “But photography appealed to me because you can actually capture a moment in time forever.”

McKee said she started out capturing weddings but that she wanted to branch out from there. She said that while she loves taking pictures of everything and anything, she especially loves doing portraits.

“I do have a favorite,” said McKee. “I do love to do portraits. I love portrait work, I love doing portraits because you concentrate on one person at one time in that moment.”

McKee said she tries to make every shot unique and all about the client. She said her studio is open every first Friday of the month from 5 to 8 p.m. or by appointment. McKee said she will also be doing mini walk-up sessions at Holiday ArtFest on November 17th at the Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
