Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Artist Colony of Zanesville is honoring a new art program this month.

Rivertown Artworks is an art studio and gallery for adults with special needs and is the featured Artist of the Month. Director, Diana Geidenberger, explains she founded the program after leaving Starlight.

“I started and ran the art program at the Starlight workshop until last year and then I worked on getting this program started and we are actually under REA Enterprise Day Program. Which is another program that provides services to folks with special needs, which is what our studio is and we have been up and running since mid February.”

Geindenbereger says Rivertown Artworks was a promise she had to fulfill.

“It was kind of a dark day when I knew I wasn’t going to be able to do art and they knew it was going to end there. So I tried to reassure them even before I had left that I was going to have another Art Studio for them and we would be together. So it was a promise I had to fulfill.”

Rivertown Artworks Gallery is located on the first floor of the Masonic Temple and will be featured this Friday as part of the First Friday Art Walk.
