Artist of the Month: The Art Loft

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Artist Colony of Zanesville selected The Art Loft as their Artist of the Month.

The four women behind The Art Loft, Susan Stubbins, Linda Graham,
Susan Nash, and Sandy Booth wanted to do something special and let other
artists in the Zanesville area get involved with their First Friday Art
Walk display. Stubbins said the focus for their event is “April Showers
Bring Your May Flowers”.

“We have had such a beautiful response from so many, like 45
different artists,” Stubbins said. “We have like 60 different pieces and
we have beautifully displayed in our space and we are really excited
about this whole project.”

Stubbins said they have all been selected individually as Artist of
the Month before so now this will be an opportunity for them to share
the opportunity with other artists. The Art Loft chose flowers and
spring for their theme because we are finally coming out of a dark and
dreary winter and now we need some bright colors in our lives.

“There is something so wonderful about painting something that is so
temporary as a flower, as a bloom and you take something that is so
temporary and you’re able to turn it into something you can kind of
keep,” Stubbins said.
