Authorities Capture Escaped Convict
Authorities have found a man who escaped from the Licking Muskingum Correctional Center on Tuesday.
Director of the Newark facility Marian Skeen says 30-year-old Kristopher Willey managed to get out of a back gate in the recreation yard around 9:55 a.m. while crews were making repairs to a camera.
Skeen says Willey had been at the facility for six days after a judge sentenced him to community control on escape and vandalism charges.
The Newark Police Department found Willey around 3:25 p.m. walking along State Route 16 just west of Cedar Road in Newark. When he saw police he attempted to escape, but was apprehended. He is now in custody at the County Jail.
