Balderson Introduces Bill
State Representative Troy Balderson is introducing a bill to the state legislature that would essentially add a stipulation to those who are covered under the Medicaid program.
It is asking that the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services gets federal approval to test Medicaid recipients for alcohol and controlled substance abuse, and if they test positive, they are to receive treatment. The bill is asking if these recipients do not seek treatment that they not qualify for Medicaid for a period of six months.
The press release indicates that Balderson presented the bill to help better the lives of alcohol and controlled substance abusers and to make sure that taxpayers’ money is being used efficiently.
