Balderson Says Buckeye Lake Water Level To Increase

The news is good if you boat or fish or work at Buckeye Lake.
State Senator Troy Balderson Thursday joined officials from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to announce plans to raise water levels at Buckeye Lake.
“This announcement is a step forward for business owners and residents at Buckeye Lake,†said Balderson. “Our collaboration has been essential to the success of this project and I anticipate a resurgence for this community, its businesses and the tourists who contribute to the local economy.â€
Gates were closed Thursday in an effort to elevate the lake by an additional two feet, according to ODNR. This will benefit businesses, improve recreational opportunities and allow for a more productive summer season on Buckeye Lake.
“I would like to thank those who have worked tirelessly in reaching this milestone ahead of schedule, including Governor Kasich, Director Zehringer, Gannett Fleming and the ASI contractors,†said Balderson.
“Let’s hope for a steady rainfall this season as rising water levels will certainly lift all boats, businesses, and spirits in the Buckeye Lake community,” added Balderson.
