Barbara J. Cubbison

Barbara J. Cubbison, age 72 was called home on Friday June 12, 2026 after a short illness.

She was born December 27, 1953 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Glad and Mary (Ferguson) King. Barb was a 1972 graduate of West Muskingum high school and the vocational school. She was a stay at home mom for several years before working at the Beckett House for twenty years.

She enjoyed entering the baking contest at the Muskingum County fair. She would always come home with a blue ribbon for her peanut butter cookies. Barb also enjoyed making blankets and loved to take a trip to Wheeling to play the slot machines. But her favorite place was sitting on her green bench with her dog Missy watching traffic drive by.

In addition to her parents Barb is preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Tyson and her in-laws Bill and Pat Cubbison.

She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Cubbison of 47 years. Her daughter’s Lisa (Brian) Van Fossen and Kayla (Troy) Jones.

Her five grandchildren she dearly loved,

Dylan, Owen and Kylie Van Fossen. Lyla and Layla Jones. A sister Patrica (Bill) Weiser and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Barb’s wishes a private graveside ceremony for the family will be held and she will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
