Barbara L. Sutton

Barbara Lynn (Jones) Sutton, 64 of Byesville, passed away peacefully at the Beckett House in New Concord on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

Barb was born on December 22, 1961, at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Carl Dean Jones, the late Beverly Maxine (Albaugh) (Randolph) Jones, and her late step father Richard Randolph.

Barb attended New Philadelphia High School and later obtained her GED. She worked at Tuscarawas Co Chiropractic clinic as a transcriber and later as a workers compensation specialist. Barb was an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed fishing and camping. She also enjoyed playing pool, singing and traveling, especially to Cozumel. Barb loved spending time with friends and family. She had an infectious laugh and a warm smile that was sure to brighten everyone’s day.

Barb is survived by her son Richard (Traci) Jones of Dover; her siblings, Carol (Robert) Huhn of Cambridge, Randy (Helen) Jones of Quaker City, William Jones of Cambridge; Nieces and nephews, Jennifer Grewell, Julie (Jason) Carlee, Thomas (Carissa) Grewell, Joseph Huhn, Kaylee Huhn, Kacie (Kody) Stewart, Tiffany Jones, Amber Jones, Ronald (Cortney) Jones; her fiance’s children, Gary Schaar and Verna (Chris) Kauffman and two of his grandchildren of Orville; Several great nieces and nephews: Two great-great nieces; And her very best friend, Amanda Wright.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her fiance and love of her life

Gary Shotwell; Her sister Carla Rae (Jones) Grewell; Her niece Nicole Dawn Huhn; Her friend Jerry Griesen; As well as her precious dog Pepper.

In keeping with Barb’s wishes, a cremation will take place and no services will be held. Burial will take place at a later date in Stonecreek Cemetery, Stonecreek Ohio. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord will handle the arrangements.
