Barker Re-Elected in Perry County

In election results from Perry County Sheriff William Barker is re-elected to another term in office defeating democrat Amy Nash English by over 3,700 votes.

Republican Benjamin Carpenter wins a seat as commissioner beating democrat Ed Keister 8,566 votes to 5,799.

The Village of Glenford’s roads and bridges levy, current expenses levy for 1.5 mills for 5 years and current expenses for 2.3 mills for 5 years all passed.

The Thorn Township levy for the payment of permanent, part-time or volunteer firefighting and emergency medical services levy for 3 mills for 5 years passed by over 180 votes.

Junction City’s levy for current expenses 5 mills for 5 years won by over 100 votes, 201 to 100.

The Village of New Straitsville saw their general construction levy for 3 mills for 5 years pass 137 votes for to 78 against.

Roseville’s ordinance for sensible marijuana passed 250 votes to 242.

Voters in Somerset chose to approve their police protection levy 6.5 mills for 5 years 364 votes for to 257 votes against.

The Perry County Home levy 1 mill for 5 years passed 8,786 for to 5,620 against.

Larry Householder also is elected to the State Representative 72nd district seat defeating democrat John J. Carlisle.
