The Barn Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Get ready to see green all weekend long at one local bar.
The Barn’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend celebration kicks off this evening with lots of entertainment. Two bands, Tommy Lee and Friends and Sharwhal will be performing starting at 7 p.m. Saturday will be an Irish party all day going to the evening with local rock legend Rif-Raf performing. Then at midnight a crazy leprechaun contest takes place where the winner can win a three day trip to their choice from a list of twenty destination option.
“Last year when we did the crazy leprechaun dress up contest, we had I think about 15 entrants. And you know the crowd was all into it, the people who had dressed up were obviously all into it. So we’re looking for an even bigger turn out this year,” said Owner of the Barn, Jim Watson.
For Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day, there will be plenty of green beer, a special shot called the “crazy leprechaun,” and the traditional shepherd’s pie will be served. Sunday night, a band named Uncommon Denominator will be playing at 6 p.m. with their music set revolving around Celtic inspired tunes.
“St. Patrick’s Day is one of the funnest nights of the year. You know you’ve got St. Patrick’s Day, the night before Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve that are all kind of staples for people to come out and have a good time, enjoy what they’re doing,” said Watson.
For those who have had too much of the green beer, the Barn will be offering their “Barn van” as a safe ride home for celebrants.
