ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A community organized event is shooting and scoring for a good cause.

A basketball tournament at South Zanesville Park took place
Sunday raising money for Ryan Tullius’ family. Ryan was Zanesville teen
who was killed in a car accident back in April. Participants were able
to register and play in the three on three tournament. T-shirts were
also available to be purchased, with the proceeds from that going to his
family as well.

“We all like basketball, and Ryan liked basketball, so we figured a
good thing to do would be to come out here and have a three on three
tournament. That way we can sell t-shirts and help raise money, and also
bring everyone together,” said tournament organizer, Billy Whyde.

The tournament involves playing basketball to the score of 21, and
it’s all to have a good time while also remembering Ryan. Ryan’s family
was also present at the event, his brother Max Lonas said it was great
to see the community come together in a time of need.

“I knew there was going to be a lot of teams but you get here and see
how many people are actually here. It’s really uplifting, makes you
feel good. Especially him, well loved, lots of friends,” he said.

On May 31st the Eagles Club will be hosting a spaghetti dinner benefit for Ryan’s family as well.
