Bowl For Kids Sake 2026

ZANESVILLE, OH – Get ready to strap on your boots and your cowboy hat for a night of fun, food, and drinks, all to support programs for local kids in our area.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Appalachian Ohio are getting ready for a rooting and tooting evening at the 42nd annual Bowl for Kids Sake Fundraiser happening on April 15th, 16th, and 17th at the Sunrise Bowling Center.

Julie Schroeder, the Admin and Development Manager with BBBSAOH, says the theme for this year’s event is Cowboys vs. Outlaws and is excited to see what the community comes up with.

“It’s just such a great event, people come, they have a good time.” Schroeder said. “The community comes together, it’s so much fun and it’s for a great cause! So I love it!”

She says they’re still accepting posses of 4 to 6 bowlers and added the evening will also include a 50/50 drawing, western games, valuable loot up for grabs, with music provided by DJ Kurtus.

Tia Back, the Director of Operations at Sunrise Bowling Center says, the reason they keep hosting this event every year with BBBSAOH is to help to continue providing youth mentorship opportunities.

“It’s fun, it’s for a great cause, we have a great time and we look forward to it every year.” Back said. “We kind of just let [BBBSAOH] take over and it’s their place for the few days that they’re here and all of the employees enjoy it, we get ready, we order our costumes weeks ahead of time.”
