Be Creative with Summer Reading
Hundreds of people are signing up for the start of the Muskingum County Libraries summer reading program.
The six-week program officially kicks off next Monday and offers incentives for all ages to meet their summer reading goals.
This summer they’re asking everyone to get creative with books.
“This summer’s theme is ‘Be Creative @ Your Library’ so our weekly programs focus on the arts, music, we have area artists coming in and doing programs with young people, so we’re very excited about that,” says Blair Tom, pubic relations director Muskingum Public Libraries.
Those that participate in the program get incentives as they read their way through the summer and Tom says it’s a free way to have a lot fun.
“It’s such great fun. It’s a read for fun program, it is free. We also have the MC passport program in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce, so all summer readers will receive a passport to visit over 21 area destinations. So it’s a great way for a stay-cation, close to home fun and it’s free not a bad thing,” he says.
If you don’t have a chance to sign up for the program by next week don’t worry, sign-ups are open through July 25th.
