ZANESVILLE, Ohio — With temperatures expected to approach 90 degrees this week, what better way to cool down than with a cool treat?

Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl is coming off a Big Mother’s Day weekend and owner Bill Sullivan says they’re prepared for a big week as well with all their popular seasonal flavors, in addition to some classic favorites.

“It’s summertime at Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl, it looks like it’s going to be close to 90 degrees. We’ve got the seasonal flavors ready like the Coconut Chocolate Almond, the Chocolate Caramel Marshmallow Fudge, and the Chocolate Caramel Brownie. But we always have our stand-by flavors too; Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry, and Butter Pecan. It’s all homemade, it’s all made right here at Tom’s like it usually is,” says Sullivan.

Sullivan also says that in addition to their ice cream, they have several seasonal flavors of sherbet available including lime, and pineapple, to go along with their year-round orange and champagne flavors.

While Tom’s is certainly famous for their homemade ice cream and hot nuts– including cashews, blanched peanuts, redskin, and Spanish peanuts– Sullivan says they have a new chef and some new items on their full kitchen menu that everyone should be sure to check out.

“As far as our kitchen goes, we have our homemade soups, we deal with Rittberger brand meats so we get the meat in fresh every day. So we have a full kitchen menu, I’ve got a new chef working, he’s got some new twists and turns on a few things, so you might want to come down and try a sandwich because we’re doing some new things down here in the kitchen too,” added Sullivan.

Tom’s is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. They also have a new gift shop next door that is open Thursday though Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
