CAMBRIDGE, OH – National Coffee Day is giving coffee lovers and extra reason to grab their favorite brew, whether they prefer it hot, iced, or loaded with flavor.

At The Brickhouse Social in downtown Cambridge, coffee is about more than what is in the cup. Co-owner of The Brickhouse Social, Allison Tayler, said the drink has long been a way for her to connect with the people around her.

Tayler said coffee has been part of time spent with friends and family, from grabbing a cup before shopping to sitting down and catching up with her mom and grandmother.

For National Coffee Day, WHIZ’s Shylin Costello stepped behind the counter to see what it takes to be a barista and make one of the shop’s most popular drinks, the Brickhouse Mocha.

Tayler said making coffee is an art, with each ingredient carefully measured to make sure the flavors are balanced.

The Brickhouse Mocha starts with white chocolate syrup before espresso, milk, and ice are added. The drink is finished with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle.

After some help from Barista Sydney Richards, including a little assistance getting the lid on, Costello completed her first Brickhouse Mocha and gave it a taste.

Coffee lovers can celebrate National Coffee Day by enjoying their favorite cup at home or stopping by a local coffee shop.
