Behr Expands with New Plant in Heath

HEATH, OH – Behr, a manufacturer of architectural paints for interior and exterior applications, has opened a new warehouse facility in Heath.

The company chose Heath for its strategic location, citing availability of rail service and proximity to costumer demand as key factors.

“Licking County and Ohio both are really hot. You know, companies want to come here. I was just talking to some of the folks in there, you know, they had other choices in the mid-west. They had two other sites, other states, two other states. They picked Ohio. One of the reasons is we have rail coming right in here. Very essential part to make paint, you have to have the materials coming in here and they do it by rail,” Governor of Ohio, Mike DeWine said.

The new plant promises economic benefits to the local area, particularly through job creation. It is expected to create numerous jobs and boost the local economy. Sitting on a large tract of land, the plant has space to grow its operations, which could further increase job opportunities down the road.

“We’ve been a company manufacturing for over 75 years. We have very low turnover; we have a very strong culture. Our goal is really to have employees be employees with Behr for life,” President of Behr Paint Company Megan Selby said.
