ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The community is welcomed to a spaghetti dinner to show support for a cancer survivor.

Curt Ardrey was diagnosed last January with stage three Lung Cancer. After months of Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy his next door neighbor Angie Carroll decided to help Ardrey by raising money.
“I did a fundraiser with candles and that was a success, but I felt like I needed to do more because the bills are endless and they keep poring in and I don’t want to stop there,” Carroll said. “I want them to know that they don’t have to be in this alone and that I will fight, I will help, and do everything thing I can as a friend and neighbor.”

The benefit dinner will also offer a bake sale, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and a basket raffle. All the donations are going straight to Ardrey’s medical bills, gas money, and his other funds that were effected by his cancer treatments.

“What I have right now is the easy part and what the community has is the easy part,” Carroll said. “The victim alone has the hard part, where they have to go through the rest of their life wondering whether it’s going to come back. Not only the wonder and the fear of it coming back, but the financial burden of the treatments and the over all expenses of cancer.”

The spaghetti dinner is taking place on Saturday July 15, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. The spaghetti dinner will include spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert, and a drink. Carry out orders will be available by calling (740) 891-1281. The dinner will cost $6.00 per adult and $4.00 for children under 12.
