The benefit of donations for the end of the year

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Donations for local non-profits are still being accepted for the 2017 year.
Non-Profit organizations are still in need of donations for the end of the year across the county. CEO of the Muskingum County Community Foundation Brian Wagner said donations can help any organization and help the local community. He said donating now also allows the donators to take advantage of the current tax laws before they change.
“Whether it’s for Salvation Army, United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, or here at the Community Foundation there’s still an opportunity for you to make a contribution into this tax year to be able to take advantage of the benefits before things begin to change as we get into the new tax year in 2018. End of the week come on down, give where you would like to give and help support our local groups,” said Wagner.
Wagner said he would really encourage those who would like to give locally to really think about where they would like their dollars to make a difference. Another local organization people can donate to is the United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties. Executive Director Meg Deedrick said every dollar donated here stays in the community.
“When you hear the name United Way you know that there are United Ways across the county and actually across the world. Improving the financial stability, education, and health of their respective communities. But it’s important to note we are not a national organization we are run locally and the money that’s raised here, stays here. So if you’ve had an opportunity to contribute to campaign know that… there are plans for that money and it’s already being put to good use,” said Deedrick.
Both Wagner and Deedrick said any amount of money donated makes a difference in the community and in people’s lives.
