Bernadette Jorgenson

Bernadette “Bernie” Zywicki Jorgenson, 89, of New Lexington, Ohio, formerly of Auburn Heights, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a friend to many.
Bernie and her family relocated to Ohio in 1975 to present, when her husband was transferred by his employer, ITT Higbie, Inc. (Cooper Standard) to the New Lexington plant.
A long time member of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Bernie sang in the choir and joyfully served her community. She was known for her homemade noodles, perfectly picked chicken and famous deviled eggs-staples at church dinners, festivals, the fair stand and the Bereavement Committee gatherings.
She found great joy in attending the sporting events of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always cheering from the sidelines with pride. Bernie’s creativity and skill were evident in her love of crafts, flower arranging and sewing. As an exceptional seamstress, she and her daughter Cindy created the first-ever-Dri-Lo Umpire bags-originally sewn for her grandson, Mark. These bags are now worn by Major League and Minor League umpires, as well as officials around the world.
Bernie is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Ronald O. Jorgensen (married November 13, 1954); her children, Karen (Tim) Brady, Cindy (Mike) Lollo, Rocky Jorgenson, Janet (Jim) Stafford and Michelle (Sue) Jorgenson; grandchildren, Lauren Malone, Matthew (Rachel) Brady, Nick (Linda) Lollo, Mark Lollo, Ron (Abbi) Jorgenson, Kelly Ayers and Kristy (Justin) Peyton; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Beck, Filo Malone, Macie Lollo, Benjamin Lollo, Zachary Lollo and Dylan Padgett; many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Veronica Dobosenski Zywicki; siblings, Marion (Chet) Meger, Francis (Dell) Peak, Irene (Ward) West, Cecilia Gelen, Bernard Zywicki, Louis Zywicki, Stanley (Louise) Zywicki and Lorraine (Wayne) Shaw.
Bernie’s legacy is one of love, service and innovation. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
