Bessie Wheeler
Bessie Louisa Wheeler, 80, of Sonora passed at 12:35 PM Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Beckett House.
She was born on Saturday, March 9, 1946, in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of the late Jospeh Wilson Wineman and Margaret Marie Schrack Wineman.
Bessie was employed at Crossroads Carryout, then Airwood Carryout for a period of time and later worked for the Longaberger Company for 15 years. She enjoyed shopping, bingo and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes. Bessie’s most cherished activity was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Reed; a sister, Ethel Gregorich; 3 grandsons, Wade (Emily) Reed; Tyler Tickle and Ryan (Anna) Wheeler; two great grandchildren; her furry best friend, Bella; neighbor, Chris Wells; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Wheeler and a son, Michael Wheeler.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Johnny Nolan officiating. Burial will conclude at the St. Paul Cemetery.
