Bethel Community Center to Host Senior Citizens Resource Fair

Bethel Senior Resource Fair

ZANESVILLE, OH – Bethel Community Center is getting ready to host a resource fair geared towards senior citizens.

On Saturday, Nov. 1st, from 9AM until Noon, community members are invited to come down to the Center to see what different resources might be available.

Kathy Campbell, the Program Coordinator at Bethel, said that nearly one fourth of the residents here in Muskingum County are over the age of 60 and they want to make it as easy as possible for older adults, as well as their families and caregivers, to access these resources.

“We will have various community groups that help seniors in attendance, and there are some who cannot come but they have left brochures and things people can pick up, free donuts and coffee too.” Campbell said. “And you can just come in and out, there’s no lecture part of it, it’s just walk through the various tables and gather what you need.”

Campbell said part of their mission at Bethel is service, not just to the kiddos they see on a regular basis but also their families.

She said they’ve been looking for a way to look out for and give back to the seniors in our community and this resource fair couldn’t have been better.

“It tends to sometimes be, not an overlook, Zanesville does not overlook the seniors at all, it’s the seniors trying to find each other.” Campbell said. “Sometimes that’s where the breakdown comes, it’s just hard to get together.”

The Seniors Resource Fair will take place at Bethel Community Center, located at 126 Ontario St. in Zanesville.
