Betty L. Archer

Betty L. Archer, 89 of Zanesville, died 6:55 PM, Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at her daughter’s home.  She was born Sunday, February 21, 1932, in Lowell, the daughter of Willard B. Dovenbarger and Nellie (Coen) Dovenbarger. She married John B. Archer, Sr., on Saturday, February 18, 1950, and was Protestant by Faith.

Betty retired from Good Samaritan Hospital in 1997, following 23 years of service. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty was a beautiful seamstress and enjoyed traveling.

Betty is survived by one son: John Archer, Jr., of Zanesville; two daughters: Kathryn (Richard) Morosco of West Jefferson, and Mary (Scott) Ridgley of Zanesville; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother: Donald Dovenbarger of Zanesville; her buddy: Norma Baker of Roseville, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband of over 59 years, John Archer, Sr., who died October 6, 2009, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Gloria Archer Chambers, and one brother: Robert W. Dovenbarger.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM till 12 Noon, Friday, April 30, 2021, at The Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 12 Noon with Pastor Jeff Howard officiating.  Betty will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Zanesville Memorial Park.
