Betty Carolyn Lake Obituary
77, of Brookville, Ohio, passed away on July 3, 2026.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was defined by her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and her deep love for her family. As a born again Christian, she lived with a steadfast trust in God that carried her through every season of life. While her faith was the foundation of who she was, Carolyn was equally known for her wonderful sense of humor, bringing laughter and joy to those fortunate enough to know her.
Carolyn dedicated many years to serving her community as a school bus driver for East Guernsey County Schools, where she safely transported countless children and built lasting relationships with students and families. She also worked at NCR, where she was respected for her hard work and dedication.
Above all else, Carolyn treasured her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Lake; her daughters, Cindy (Dave) Dickerson, Lisa (Mark) Cooper, and Susie Thompson; two sisters; many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and countless friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, laughter, and unwavering faith.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Treherne; her great grandson, Ryker; her mother, EmmaJean Daughtery; her father, Joseph Tomko; her stepfather, John Daughtery; her mother and father in law, Albert and Netty Lake; her brothers in law, Bob Lake and Ronald Lake; her sisters in law, Barbara Lake and Helen Lake; and her sister, Jody Pine.
Carolyn’s legacy is one of faith, love, kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. Though her presence will be deeply missed, those who loved her find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her life was a beautiful example of faith lived daily, love freely given, and joy shared with everyone around her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 10:00am-11:00 am at Bundy-Law Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Carolyn’s life will immediately follow the visitation.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (King James Version)
