93 year old Betty Still started participating in silver sneakers over 20 years ago.
“I had it apart of my daily routine. Just brush your teeth comb your hair and go to aerobics. That’s the best way to put it. People need to make up their minds and be dedicated. If they want to hang in there and life a long life,” said Still.
Still’s exercise instructor Tara Poorman presented her Friday with the World’s Best Senior Exerciser certificate.
“As you get older and you may develop arthritis. Your muscles get weaker. Bones may get or fragile, exercise is just critical to trying to maintenance muscle strength and mobility. Like Betty said if you want to live a long life and a quality of life the more you move, the less you sit. The better you are going to be and the healthier you are going to be,” said Tara Poorman.
