Beverly Bates

Beverly Ann (Barr) Bates, 51, of Cambridge, unexpectedly passed away Thursday (February 27, 2025) at OhioHealth Southeastern Med, Cambridge.

She was born April 7, 1973 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Gary Barr and Linda Lou (Hill) Barr.

Beverly was a 1992 graduate of Cambridge High School. She was a meticulous homemaker. She loved collecting owls and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and Neal McCoy.

She was a lifelong member of the Stop 9 Church of Christ, Byesville.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Paul Bates, whom she married June 3, 2023; three daughters, Casey, Melissa, and Victoria; a son, Jerry; two stepchildren, Torie and Melissa; her siblings, Heather (Tom) Burtnett and Dustin (Jennifer) Barr; five grandchildren, Alexis, Andrew, AJ, Melanna, and Viviana; two nieces, Faith and Gracie; a nephew, David; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (March 5, 2025) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stop 9 Church of Christ, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evan. Mark Beros officiating. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville, at a later date.
