Beverly Wisecarver

Susie Wisecarve

Beverly “Susie” Hartman Wisecarver, 88, of Roseville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, one of her favorite days of the year. The matriarch of her family, Susie brought love, laughter, and an unmistakable spark to every life she touched.

She was the daughter of Richard “Dick” Hartman and Juanita “Pat” Hartman. She married her husband, Rollin, on September 26, 1956, and together they built a life filled with adventure, hard work, and family. They raised their five children in a home that was always open to others, a place where neighbors, friends, and relatives gathered often. Susie was an extraordinary host, known for throwing memorable parties, cooking for a crowd, and bringing people together with ease.

They ran a successful trucking business, a partnership that allowed them to travel the country, gather stories, and see the world mile by mile. Susie always had a story to share, her mind a treasure chest of memories, people, and moments she carried with her everywhere. Later in life, Susie worked at the South Zanesville Post Office and as a Salon Coordinator at Brenwood and Fringe hair salons, roles that suited her perfectly. She greeted every client as a friend, keeping up with their lives, their families, and their stories.

Known affectionately as “Grace” due to her endearing clumsiness, Susie had a spirit that was larger than life. She loved to cook and bake, filling her home with comfort, warmth, and the kinds of smells that drew family together. She embraced bold colors, glitter, and vibrant style, never afraid to show the world exactly who she was. Susie had a lifelong love of animals, especially her beloved dog and best friend, Maggie, along with many pets who kept her company throughout her life. Her love for Christmas was on full display during the holiday season, inside and out, as she decorated her home with evergreens, lights, and everything that sparkled, bringing the magic of the season to her home, family, and community.

Susie is survived by her children Rick (Judi), Randy, Rnee Wisecarver (Demi), Misty, Holly (David Trafford), and Diane McHenry; and by her grandchildren Angie, Ashley, Amanda, Jeremiah, Ryan, Erika, Eric, Jesse, Jacob, Katie, Kellie, Kacie, and Sawyer. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, cherished cousins, sister-in-law Myra Six Hartman, and dear friend Pat Cosgrave. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rollin, her son Demi, brothers Larry “Butch” Hartman and Terry Hartman, sister Roberta Lenhart, sister-in-law Pat “Little Pat” Hartman Bauer, brothers-in-law Ed Bauer, Larry Lenhart, and Dorus Wisecarver, and nephews Dougie Wisecarver and Brett Hartman.
