ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Large turn out for the opening bidding at Muskingum County Commissioner Thursday.
7 companies submitted their bids for the Riverside Airport Water Extension Project.
“The county extended water lines in that location recently, made it possible to serve that area. They are basically bidding that project. It’s about a mile of 6 inch pipe to serve the residents of Long Riverside Drive. The job is going to be about a 90 day job once they award the contract. It will be done this summer. Those people should be able to have water in that area soon,” said Professional Engineer Morgan Coast.
Coast said he’s quite impressed with the bids and the turn out.
“Extraordinary. The bids were very good. They’re below our estimate by a considerable amount. It’s evident that work is kind of slow for contractors. We have 7 bidders that is significant,” said Coast.
Commissioners took the bids under advisement.
