Bids Placed on Bulk Water Plant near Adamsville
Some residents near Adamsville may soon have better access to water.
Four bids were placed Monday for a bulk water plant to be built at the Salem Township Hall . Muskingum County Commissioner Jerry Lavy says there has been a demand for the plants in the county because many residents use well water, which can often go dry because of the dry season.
"We put one out on Richards Road at the water department plant. There’s one in Chandlersville, a bulk plant there, so we’re trying to scatter a few of them throughout the county," said Lavy.
County Engineer Doug Davis estimated the cost to be around 66,000 dollars. Monday’s lowest bidder for the plant was Lexico Site Services at 48,000 dollars. The commissioners are expected to make a decision within the next few days.
