Bids Received for Rich Hill Township Waterline Project Along Route 313

ZANESVILLE, OH – Muskingum County is making progress on improving water access for several local roads.

On December 19th, the Muskingum County Commissioners received bids for a project extending waterlines along State Route 313, including portions of Hardy Lane, North Leedom Road, and Herron Road. A total of eight bids were submitted, with the lowest bid coming in at over $500,000. The project will connect to the existing water system and extend along Route 313.

“This is a very rural area, and there was mining in the area years ago. Water quality and water volumes for the area, many of the people haul water or their water quality is very low. There’s funding to help alleviate the problem in that area,” Muskingum County Projects Director Don Madden said.

Rich Hill Township trustees played a key role in advancing this initiative, which will enhance water access for local residents.

“We want to pass along a thank you to the Rich Hill Township trustees. They helped us with this project. Several of the projects received ARPA funding and they dedicated their ARPA money to this project. It’s one of the things that’s helped us to allow this project to move forward. And our county engineer did all of the design work on it. We appreciate working with them to be able to make this project move forward,” Madden said.

The commissioners will now move forward with reviewing the bids. The starting date for construction is still to be determined.
