Biggest return day of the year brings out shoppers

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The day after Christmas is known for being one of the biggest return days of the year.

Shoppers across the U-S flocked to malls to return unwanted gifts. WHIZ stopped by Colony Square Mall to catch up with shoppers making those returns, but instead found alternative reasons to brave the mall after the holiday. One woman brought her niece to do some shopping and spend time together.

“I brought my niece out to go to the movies and she met her cousin out here. We bought a wallet and a pair of headphones,” said Louis Paisley.

While Paisley and her niece enjoyed “The Greatest Showman”, another shopper was busy taking early shopping to the extreme. Denise Hatcher wasn’t interested in making any returns. Instead she was busy seeing what she could get for a good deal.

“Every year I always go out and get the bargains and put them back for next year. I shop all year long for the grandkids, for my customers, and you know family, friends, and whatever.”

For those that do need to make returns, you should make sure you have your receipt and review each individual store return policy before heading out.
