Bishops fall to Silver Knights in state semifinal

HILLIARD, Ohio – The Rosecrans Bishops fell to Summit Country Day in the D-III boys soccer state semifinal at Hilliard Bradley High School on Wednesday night, 7-0.

The Silver Knights netted three goals in the first half and four in the second half to secure their fourth trip to the state championship in five years. David Cook scored twice for Summit Country Day, who will meet Kidron Central Christian at MAPFRE Stadium on Sunday.

The Bishops (14-5-4) made their third trip to the state tournament in program history and second in as many years. Rosecrans won four consecutive games by a one-goal margin to make it back to the final four, including a come-from-behind triumph over Grandview Heights in the regional final, 2-1.
