Black Friday Frenzy
ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â Some eager shoppers did not even allow their food to digest before heading out for Black Friday savings.
Colony Square Mall opened it’s door at 6 p.m. Thursday for the annual frenzy. Marketing and Business Development Coordinator, Kevin Pinson, said having the mall open on Thursday changed the dynamics of Black Friday.
“Our heaviest traffic was up until about midnight. Things kind of just slowed down. We had some retailers opened all night long. And they did see some customers coming through all evening. Things have kind of gotten quite this morning, however we except things to pick back up after one’s gone home got some rest and comes back out for round two” said Pinson.
Pinson also mentioned the lower gas prices has given shoppers a little extra spending money. Some customers were able to shop twice, once on Thursday evening and again Friday morning.
“I live actually about 30 minutes away from town. So gas is pretty pricey for me now that it’s gone down. I have a lot more money to spend today so that’s nice” said Jennifer Lefever.
“I went last night and I went this morning. Last night was a lot more crowded. Found some actually good deals. And I found exactly what i was looking for here at the mall. It was a good night. I didn’t see Christmas gifts for the girls yet but I’m still looking” said Ryan Saling.
And for those of you who overslept and missed the door busters this morning, don’t fear Cyber Monday has exclusive online deals. If you are not one to shop online well, there is always next year.
