Black Friday on the horizon
Colony Square Mall is preparing for a shopping frenzy this week.
The mall will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, and Marketing and Business Development Coordinator Kevin Pinson said some stores will remain open all night and through Black Friday. Last year around 40,000 people visited the mall on Thanksgiving and Black Friday last year. Pinson spoke to us Monday about planning out your Black Friday.
"It pays to plan your day with door busters there’s limited supplies in some cases, so decide where you want to hit first, go online and look at the sales or check your paper for flyers and put together a plan," said Pinson. "That’s the best way to get the deals that you want."
We spoke with Pinson about how the mall is opening earlier this year. He said they have had great responses to being open on Thanksgiving in the past.
"We’re kind of just following a trend," said Pinson. "Some other businesses started that a couple years ago with thanksgiving day, and we need to give the shoppers what they want, and they respond well to the thanksgiving hours."
While the mall opens at 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving its official Black Friday kick-off will be at 7:00 a.m. Friday. You can visit the mall’s website at www.colonysquaremall.com for a complete breakdown on hours for all the stores.
