Blue Ribbon Event

Soon the Muskingum County Fairgrounds will be alive with animals, entertainment and food for the 163rd Blue Ribbon Fair.

While the fairgrounds may look deserted now, in a little more than a week from it’ll be transformed into a bustling attraction.

With it’s 1724 exhibits that’s more than any other Blue Ribbon Fair. This year’s big attraction is the Beach Boys.

“We’ve been working on this as a board, I’m going to say three years, trying to get the Beach Boys here. And yes, it’s going to be on a Tuesday night,” said Muskingum County Fair Board’s Darrel Cubbison. “That was the time that was suitable for the Beach Boys to come to town.”

There are still some grandstand seats available for the show and coming to the fair is a great way to support local kids who put in lots of hard work.

“Oh my land sakes,” exclaimed Cubbison. “This fair could not operate without the 4-H, FFA Program, the scouting program all these organizations with these young people. That’s the heart of the fair.”

To get your hands on some great fair food and lend your support to local organizations the fair opens August 16 and runs til the 22nd.
