Blue Ribbon Quilt Barn Painting

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A building at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds is getting a bit of a face-lift.

The Barn Artist Scott Hagan was at the Coliseum to start painting a new design on the side of the building. Hagan said the design picked is special to the Blue Ribbon Fair.

“This particular quilt design was picked because it has a significance to the fair,” said Hagan. “This design is a…sort of has the blue ribbons in a technique that makes up the quilt design.”

Hagan said it won’t take him too long to complete the project, only about a day and a half, but that the painting is slightly different from what he’s used to.

“Well today with the quilt design it could be a little bit different in that regard, we’re painting on a steel building, which has its own different challenges,” said Hagan. “So, just part of my job is overcoming those challenges.”

Hagan said he’ll be working on the project during Farm City Day on Saturday, which runs from 9 am until 1 pm and that the public is welcome to stop by, check out the painting, and ask questions. The Farm City Day Committee will be dedicating the painting to the Senior Fair Board at noon.
