Bodies Found in Knox County
According to the Associated Press, authorities in rural Central Ohio say they’ve found the bodies of a mother, her young son and a family friend who disappeared more than a week ago.
Knox County Sheriff David Barber said Thursday that the bodies were found in garbage bags, inside a hollow tree near
Fredericktown, about 20 miles northwest of their home in Howard.
The mother’s 13-year-old daughter, who also disappeared, was found Saturday, bound and gagged in the basement of the home of a 30-year-old unemployed man who spent six years in a Colorado prison.
He is charged with kidnapping the girl.
Barber says the man, Matthew Hoffman, gave information that led to the discovery of the bodies.
Authorities had said after finding the girl that they feared the others were dead.
A Deputy searching the family’s home in Howard, about 40 miles northeast of Columbus, had said he saw an unusual
amount of blood there.
