Boil advisory issued for Shelby Street area

Boil Advisory

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The City of Zanesville Water Division is working to repair a Water Main break in the Shelby Street area.

The following areas may be affected by low pressure:

Westwood Drive,  Walnut Drive, National Way, June Parkway, Federal Ave., Clay Street, Chester Street, Race Street         Arch Street, Maysville Pike from Spence Ave South to Clay St., Baker Street – Including Cook Manor, Pine Street including all side streets from Maysville Ave. north to Shelby Street.

A precautionary boil alert is being issued for customers in the affected area once the repair is completed and pressure is restored.

DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for at least one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

This precautionary boil advisory is issued only for the affected area.  Water samples will be collected once the work is completed and service is restored. An additional notice will be given when the boil advisory is lifted.
