Bond Reduction Request Denied

The Zanesville man accused of the attempted murder of a Zanesville bartender appeared in court for a bond hearing Wednesday.

29-year-old Cody Fisher is facing six felony charges including attempted murder, kidnapping, attempted aggravated arson, aggravated robbery, theft and tampering with evidence. He has already plead not guilty.

Fisher appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court in an effort to get his bond reduced. That request was denied by Judge Kelly Cottrill who instead continued it at $200,000.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says in the early morning hours of September 2nd Fisher entered the Lighthouse Inn on Old River Road and assaulted a female bartender while robbing the establishment.

Lutz say Fisher put the woman in a cooler and attempted to set the bar on fire with her inside.

The woman suffered injures and had to be treated at a Columbus hospital.

Fisher remains in the County Jail.
