ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System and A Taste of Ohio, Wine, Bourbon & Beer have teamed up to host their second adult book fair, Books & Bourbon.

Taking place this Friday at A Taste of Ohio, the event offers a relaxed atmosphere to meet local authors and browse the books for sale from local vendors. The Books & Bourbon allows those in attendance to try and find their next favorite book along with local wines, bourbon and beer.

“We are really excited for this event. This is our second year hosting it, here at A Taste of Ohio and last year it was just a really good evening. It was very busy, several people in the community, it was just a really good evening,” said Tessa Dickinson, co-owner of A Taste of Ohio.

“The space is beautiful. Having all local items, you know, supporting each other is fantastic. And, especially with the library being under remodel, it’s great to have this space to use,” said Ro Sassen, the adult services librarian for the Muskingum County Library System.

Five local authors will be at the event, including Muskingum County authors like C.A. Clark, John Furek, and Valtinen. One of the vendors includes the Friends of the Library who raises funds through used book sales to support programs at the Muskingum County Library locations.

“We have a wide variety of vendors, people doing handmade crafts, loaded sodas, coffee, you name it, they’re going to be here. And then, our authors are from a variety of genres. We have a post on the Muskingum Country Library Instagram, and I believe our Facebook, that has author bios of who all’s going to be here,” Sassen said. “And then, if anybody’s not able to make it to the event, we do have all of the author’s books either on order or already on the shelves at the library. ”

Books & Bourbon is on Friday at 6 p.m. at 524 Main Street in Zanesville. You can learn more by visiting the Muskingum County Library System’s website, their Facebook page, and A Taste of Ohio, Wine, Bourbon and Beer’s Facebook page.
