Bowers Enters Plea in Fatal Crash
A Zanesville woman pleads guilty in connection to a fatal accident. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says that 24-year-old Heather Bowers appeared before Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle and entered the plea to one count of reckless homicide and two counts of aggravated vehicular assault. The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol says that on November 15th of 2013, Bowers was traveling west on County Road 66, failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the road striking several trees. The Patrol says one of the passengers in the vehicle, Michael Allen Miller Jr. of Zanesville died in the crash. Judge Fleegle ordered a pre-sentence investigation. The Prosecutor’s Office says one count of aggravated vehicular homicide, two counts of aggravated vehicular assault and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence will be dropped at the time of sentencing.
