Bowl for Kids Sake
The biggest fundraiser for Big Brothers, Big Sisters is now underway.
On Wednesday, organizers spoke with students at Maysville Middle School to explain how the " Bowl for Kids Sake" event raises money and to ask them to help.
It will include participants from Muskingum, Morgan and Guernsey Counties. This year organizers want students to fundraise.
"This year we are pushing to be in all the schools; to get all of the students involved in this fundraiser so they can be participating as well" said Sarah Warfield.
Maysville Middle School is the first school to begin fundraising. The classroom that raises the most money will participate in the event. The event raises 32% of the organizations operating budget.
"So the money from Bowl for Kids sake will be used to recruit, screen, and match the lasting relationships between our volunteer mentors and our most vulnerable children " explains Warfield.
This year, the elderly can Wii bowl at Muskingum County Center for Seniors. This way anyone can form a team of five and participate. It is hoped each team will raise $500. If the team does each member will all receive a t-shirt. If interested, call 740-453-7300.
