Brandon Downs
On May 16th, 2024 Brandon Louis Downs, 31, passed away suddenly and peacefully in his home in Columbus, Ohio. Born on November 25th, 1992 to Lillian Viney and Patrick Downs, Brandon lit up every room from the day he was born with his bright light and laughter. After graduating from Zanesville High School in 2011, Brandon went to study Medical Laboratory at Zane State College, then received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory from The Ohio State University. Since working in his field, he was employed by Riverside Methodist Hospital where he recently was promoted to shift lead/trainer.
Brandon lived his life to the fullest, although his life was cut too short. Brandon enjoyed music, especially all things Beyonce, he enjoyed going for dinner/drinks with his friends (Hannah in particular) followed by a visit to the casino, but more than anything Brandon loved going to California to spend time with his family – especially his nephews and niece, exploring the beaches, hiking, mountains and food.
Brandon was preceeded in death by his Aunt Josselyn Viney, Grandfather Leroy Viney, Grandmother Caroline Viney and Aunt Rosemary McGinnis.
He is survived by his mother, Lillian Viney, father, Patrick Downs, sisters, Courtney (Sabrina) Cervantes-Downs, nephews Noah and Julian, niece Penelope, Grandmother Shelly Downs, and his best friend Hannah Scipio, as well as tons of family and friends who love him and will miss him greatly. Per the family’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. You may call on the family, Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Elder Norris officiating. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
