Brave Beginnings Golf Fundraiser
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A golfing fundraiser was held at the Zanesville Country Club today in support of Brave Beginnings, a local child abuse advocacy group.
Brave Beginnings Executive Director Roni Kuhn explained the important role the organization performs in the community as well as the significance that today’s outing plays in supporting the nonprofit.
“Brave Beginnings is Muskingum County Child Advocacy Center. We provide crucial services for children who have been abused. Specifically, sexually abused and severely physically abused here in Muskingum County. We’re the only child advocacy center here in Muskingum County. We provide forensic interviews, we provide victim advocacy, we provide medical services and then follow up services for the families,” Kuhn said.
Around 100 golfers participated in the outing that serves as a major means of support.
“So what we have going here today is our annual golf classic and everybody that has came here today has donated in some form or another. Either sponsor a pool or pay to golf on the course or just here helping out. So all of our fundraisers that we do throughout the year help us continue with operations,” Kuhn said.
