House Fire on Grove Avenue

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Fire Department is investigating a Sunday evening fire at 632 Grove Avenue.  According to Assistant Chief Jeff Bell they were dispatched for a house fire and when ZFD Engine 2 arrived on the scene the back porch was completely engulfed in flames and they took about 10 minutes to put the fire out.

“Second engine on scene did a search of the residence. We sent a secondary search unit in, the secondary search found an elderly female in one of the bedrooms. We were able to pull her out and she was transferred to the hospital,” Bell Said.

The woman was taken to Genesis Hospital. According to Assistant Chief Jeff Bell they managed to get three dogs out of the house as well and the house was filled with heavy smoke. It is now currently under investigation. We’ll update you with more information as soon as we learn more.
