Burrito is Ready for Her Forever Home

Animal Story Dog

ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Pet of The Week is sure to wrap you up in love, her name is Burrito!

Burrito is a four-year-old mixed breed with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s full of energy, loves to play, and gets along well with other dogs, but she’d prefer a home without cats.

“She is very high-energy. She has enjoyed her pool here all summer at the animal shelter. She loves that. She’s a plot hound mix. We’re want to make sure she’ll have a place to run. We’d really like to have somebody who has a fence in the backyard so she can go out there for play time and get some of her energy out. She’s extremely strong, so we want to make sure that our adopter realizes that.” Animal Shelter Society Executive Director, April Gibson said.

The Animal Shelter Society also has something new to wag about! The Moyer Group Wealth Management of Raymond James presented their “Meet and Greet Playhouse”, a project from habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio’s annual playhouse event.

“This meet-and-greet home is our vision, and we’ve already had a dog check out of it. It’s for the youth to be able to go in there and sit with a dog, get out of the environment with the shelter, the noises, the smells, be relaxes, and make sure it’s going to be a good fit for adoption.” Gibson said.

The Animal Shelter Society’s Disco InFURno event is taking place on Monday, November 3rd, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lind Arena. More information about this event, and details on how you can adopt a pet like Burrito, can be found on the Animal Shelter Society’s Facebook page and website.
