Burrows to Help Perry County Tackle Homelessness
NEW LEXINGTON, OH – Jimmy and Robin Burrow are ready to help Perry County score big in the fight against homelessness.
The parents of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, Joe Burrow, will serve as keynote speakers for the Perry County Housing Coalition’s upcoming fundraiser. The coalition’s mission is to help tackle homelessness and support those in need. The event is set for August 13th at the New Lexington High School cafetorium. The doors will open at 5:30 P.M., dinner kicks off at 6, and the program begins at 6:45.
“In March of this year, I received a call from a pastor. A really nice pastor who said, ‘Hey Judge, did you know there’s 100 people living in the woods outside of New Lexington who are homeless?’ And it really bothered me.” Judge Luann Cooperrider, Judge at the Perry County Probate Juvenile Court, said. “So, I fired up my computer and I went on the ‘JBF’ Joe Burrow Foundation. I found his mother’s contact information. Robbin Burrow. I sent her an email, told her who I was and what we are doing in Perry County. She got right back to me. We set up a conference call three days later, and at the end of that call she said, ‘We will help.'”
Tickets are $25 a person, and organizers say it’s a great opportunity to hear from the Burrows and learn more about how Perry County is working to end homelessness.
“Joe’s parents are both coming to be our keynote speakers. And it will be a fundraiser, but more importantly it’ll be an opportunity to engage the community with what we’re trying to do and to educate the community on the problem and that we want to help these people.” Judge Cooperrider said.
You can purchase your ticket at the door, or to reserve your spot ahead of time, you can mail payment to Perry Housing Coalition, P.O. Box 917, New Lexington, Ohio.
